“Really? Sam I am trying to read!” You said as you try to push the big oaf off your lap. You were sitting on a couch in the bunker, and you were really into this book!

“Shhh. Just let it happen.” For some odd reason, Sam decided that he wanted to lay on your lap. After a few minutes of pushing, and laughing from Sam, you just rolled your eyes and gave up. It ended with his head on your thighs and his eyes closed. You rested your arms across his chest and read from there. As time went on, you brought the book closer to your face, and subconsciously started playing with Sam’s hair. Only when you heard him humm with pleasure did you stop and look at what you were doing.

“Why did you stop?” He looked at you with big puppy eyes that made the blood flow to your cheeks. Not going to lie, it was nice seeing him happy and content like that.

“I didn’t realize I was doing it, sorry. Anyway, I want a snack, so if you could kindly move…” His chest rose twice it’s regular size as he sighed and rolled off your lap.

You went to the kitchen looking for your favorite snack. Five minutes later you found it, but it was in the highest cupboard in the house. As you fruitlessly reached for it, a toned arm reached up, and an equally toned chest pressed against your back. You turned around and found Sam, big surprise, with your snack and a smirk. He reached in the box and took out a snack and munched on it, handing the box back to you. Only then did you notice that he looked like he was ready to go somewhere.

“Where are you headed?” You asked as you took out a snack and ate it.

“Dean found us a case, so we’ll be back in a few days. It’s not much, just a trickster.” He smiled and looked down in your eyes.

You had grown up with the Winchester boys. Your family was killed when you were around eight, and John took you in and raised you with the boys. You had always thought of them as brothers. Well, Dean was definitely a big brother. Sam, on the other hand, when he was looking at you like this, was definitely more.

His eyes shifted from your eyes to your lips, just for a second. He started leaning in, or so you thought, until you heard Dean from the next room.

“Hey, Sammy! You ready or what? We need to go!” Sam glared at the door to the next room and stepped back.

“Yeah, I’m ready.” He looked at you again and went to the next room, with you following. You found Dean at the door to the garage with some duffel bags. You walked up to him and embraced him in a hug. You turned to Sam and hugged him as well.

“You guys sure you don’t need me? I mean, tricksters can be downright…..tricky.” Dean shook his head and chuckled at your wording.

“No, I’m sure. We can handle this. Plus, we need some ‘brother bonding time’.” He had a grin on  his face that you just didn’t trust. You look over and see Sam roll his eyes and take his bag to the impala.

“Okay, well, be careful. I don’t want either of you hurt, or anything!” Sam turned around and waved before Dean muttered, “Yes, mom,” and you watched as they both drove off. At least now you could read in peace.

Sam’s POV

We were off and on the road, but I couldn’t get (Y/n) off my mind. I could almost feel her fingers in my hair again.

“Sammy, did you hear a word I just said?” I looked to Dean surprised, because I had no idea that he was actually speaking. Dean saw my reaction and rolled his eyes.

“I said, you should just ask her out.”

“What? Who? You mean (Y/n)?” How did he know?!

“Yeah, I mean (Y/n), idiot. Who else did you think I meant? You two obviously like each other, and watching you is sickening.” He reached in his bag and pulled out a candy bar, which he ate while he drove. Safe, Dean. Safe.

“Do you really think she likes me? She probably sees me as nothing more than a brother.” I huffed and sank lower into my seat.

“No, she likes me as a brother. You and her need your own room half the time. It’s gross. And the way you hide her snacks on the top shelf just so you can get all up close and personal is just desperate, dude.” Dean shook his head in shame as he pulled into the motel we were staying at. Did she really like me? She didn’t move away when I went to kiss her, so maybe?

“Wait, how did you know about the snack move thing?” I asked as we got out of the car and got our stuff.

“Honestly, how else would it have gotten up there? Plus I saw you move it. Now, we need to focus on the case.”  I nod and get on my laptop to start research.

“So get this…”

Deans POV

A few days passed and we were hot on the trail of the trickster. I had just gotten back from shopping for food and stuff when I found Sammy’s clothes scattered all over.

“Sammy? Sammy! Where are you?!” I knocked on the bathroom door when I heard a whimper behind me. I spun around and pulled my gun at the same time. I found a brown dog with long, brown hair, and brown eyes. It dropped something from it’s mouth and nudged it toward my feet. It was Sam’s phone.

“Sam, is that you?” A small yip came from his mouth, confirming my suspicions.
“Great, now I have to take you back to the bunker.” I pointed a finger at him. ” You better not crap on my seats or so help me I will throw a ball into the woods and leave without you.” Sam did this weird groan type thing and walked out to the car, leaving me to clean his mess.

“Thanks a lot.” Fricken trickster.

Your POV

You were in the kitchen getting your lunch, a ham sandwich, when you heard the familiar purr of Dean’s Baby. You smiled to yourself and ran to the door. You wrapped your arms around Dean’s neck in a bone crushing hug. He returned the hug and sighed. You pulled away and noticed that Sam wasn’t there.

“Where’s Sam?” You tried to look him in the eye, but Dean looked to the floor and his bottom lip quivered. No, Sam wasn’t...

“Dean, where’s Sam?” Tears were forming and were about to fall, when you heard a bark come from inside the garage. You gave Dean a questioning look, to which he responded with rolling into his stomach with laughter.

“Dean, why do you have a dog? I thought you hated dogs. And for the last time, where is Sam?” You knew something was up now, because never in a million years would Dean let any dog into the car, ever. This thigh high brown dog ran up to you and sat right in front of you. Dean finally collected himself, and gestured to the dog.

“This idiot got himself turned into a dog.” You stared at him with wide eyes, then at the dog.

“Sam?” He yipped and whimpered as poked your hand with his nose. You went to your knees and ran your hands over his fur. Sam leaned his head back and looked at Dean.

Flashback…

“You know, if you play it right, (Y/n) will be all over you.” Dean looked to dog Sam, who looked to him with a questioning look. Dean smirked.

“(Y/n) loves dogs. How did you not know that?” Sam replied with some grumblings and curled up on the seat.

“Don’t scratch the leather!”

Now….

“This is kind of weird. How do we get him back to normal?” You looked up to Dean, who had the same smirk on his face that you couldn’t get yourself to trust. He was up to something.

“Me and Cas got this. We just got to kill it. It’ll be fine. Meanwhile, you are going to take care of Sam here. Got it?” Both you and Sam groaned, but ultimately complied. He nodded his head at Sam before giving you another hug and headed out. You stood there for a while, just staring at Sam. He was a dog now.

WHAT?!?

“So… what now?” He tilted his head at you, clearly waiting for you to do something. You shrugged your shoulders, and remembered  your sandwich in the kitchen. You made your way there with Sam following two steps behind. You took a bite of your sandwich and you heard Sam bark and whimper. You looked at him, and noticed he was staring at your food.

“Did Dean feed you?” Sam shook his head, and sneezed.

“Calm down there, here have some of this.” You broke your sandwich in half, and held it out to Sam. He gently took it out of your hand, minding your fingers, and scarfed it down in a matter of seconds. When he was done, he walked up to you, lifted your hand with his head, and sat there with his tail wagging. You handed him the rest of your sandwich, which he graciously accepted. After he was done, he looked at you with a questioning stare.

“It’s allright. I’ll have one later. Let’s go watch some television.” Just as you said that, he dashed off to the living room. You found him waiting for you on the couch, his tail going a thousand miles per hour. You stood in the doorway and watched as he almost bounced off the seat with excitement. You walked over and flopped down next to Sam and almost immediately he crawled over and laid across your lap. You were going to push him off, but just as you lifted your arms, he looked up at you and whimpered softly. You huffed and dropped your arms. You grabbed the remote and flipped through the channels. You found your favorite show and let yourself relax into the couch.

You looked at the clock a little later, and realized it was around dinner time. You looked down at Sam, and it appeared that he was asleep. You stopped stroking his fur, and he opened his eyes and he groaned.

“Yeah, yeah. Look, my legs are asleep, I’m hungry, and I’m sure you are too.” He sighed, but slowly got up anyway. You made your way to the kitchen, and made yourself something and Sam another ham sandwich.

“Do I give you a bowl for water? Or a cup? I don’t think you can physically drink from a cup, but I…..hmmmmm” Sam just sits there and rolls his eyes at you. “Hey! At least I remember to feed you and stuff. Do you want a bowl, one bark for yes, two for no.” He immediately barked once.

“Okay! Here!” You placed a ceramic bowl of water down, and he started lapping it up.
In a matter of minutes the water was gone, and you headed back to the living room after you refiled it. But before you could get there Sam scratched at the front door, looking desperate.

“Do- do you have to use the bathroom, Sam?” He barked once and whined as you open the door, and he shot out the door into the woods. You sighed and grabbed your jacket, because it was getting dark, and followed him into the woods. You look around, but couldn’t find him anywhere.

“Sam? Where are you?” You called loudly, he wouldn’t run off or anything, right? You walked through the woods some more. “Sam! Seriously, this isn’t funny!” A loud bark came from in front of you. He was standing there, looking at you like you did something wrong.

“What?” He barked and growled at you, walking in little circles.

“Oh, okay.” You turned around and heard him walk a little ways off. .You checked your watch, it was around 9:30 pm. You liked to go to bed around ten if you weren’t on a case. Suddenly, you felt something press itself against the back of your legs. You looked and saw Sam press his head on the front of your upper thigh and look at you with his mouth open and his tongue hanging out of his mouth. He looked like a big happy oaf. You smiled back and set your hand on his head. He leaned into your hand and continued to look up at you.

“Ready to go back inside?”  He jumped back and ran to the door, you chuckled and went back inside. He went to the bowl still on the ground in the kitchen as you went to wash the dirty dishes there. You hummed a song that you learned from before the Winchesters. You felt Sam come sit on the ground next to you and listen.

“I learned that song from my mom.” You looked over at him, and he gave you a sympathetic glance.

“I don’t really remember much about my family. I know that my dad worked from home, and my mom brought me to school every morning. We were happy. Don’t get me wrong, I am glad you guys came and saved me, but I just miss them sometimes.” Sam nudged your leg with his nose as the only comfort he could offer.

Finally done washing, you dried your hands. You looked toward the clock. It was now around 10:30.

“So much for going to bed on time.” He looked at you with questioning eyes. “Yes, Sam. I do try to have a regular sleep schedule. It’s just hard to do that when you have lives on the line.” He grunted with what sounded like agreement. You smile and walk to your room, with him following. You slipped into your room and closed the door before Sam could enter. You stripped  out of your clothes and found pajamas. You heard soft whimpering and scratching at the door. It broke your heart.

“Sam, I’ll let you in, AFTER I get changed. Just because you’re a dog now, doesn’t mean that you get to see me naked.” You heard a surprised bark from the door, and some grumblings that sounded like Sam trying to explain himself, even though he’s a dog. You quick put on a tank top and shorts and opened the door. Sam immediately stood up wagging his tail. You opened the door wider and held your arm out.

“Come on in!” He trots in and sits patiently on the side of your bed. You get in your bed, pulling the blanket up to your shoulder. He put his paw at the end of your bed.

“You can come up here if you OOF!” You were silenced by the not-so-small dog that jumped on you, then proceeded to lick all over your face.

“EW! Sam! If you want to kiss me, you’re gonna have to wait ‘till your human again.” Whoops! Sam stopped licking you, and had a surprised look on his face.

“I-I mean, I don’t mean you have to, or-or even want to! It’s just- I mean, you know…” Sam moved next to you, and nuzzled his way into the blankets.

“Yeah, lets just go to sleep.” You put your arm around him, and snuggled closer. You closed your eyes, letting sleep take you.

The next day Sam woke up early, and stretched. He hadn’t meant to wake you, but did nonetheless. He pushed his nose under your chin, getting your attention.

“Do you have to go outside?” He sort of looked away, embarrassed. You rolled your eyes and got up. After you got back inside, you went about your day as normal, except with a dog in the house. It was around lunch time when you heard the Impala again. Sam was in the living room, taking a nap, or something. You went out to meet them, hugging Dean. He was smiling like an idiot.

“Did you get the trickster?”

“Yeah, would we be here if we didn’t?” You took off to the living room, ready to see Sam back to his normal, even handsome, self. You burst in, and your face fell. Sam was sitting there, still dog.

“Dean!?” He walked in, and saw why you were concerned. He looked between you and Sam, both sets of eyes demanding an explanation.

“Maybe it just takes a while to wear off?” He smiled, trying to make light of the situation. You both had doubtful looks on your faces.

“Look, if he doesn’t change back in a few days, we’ll ask Crowley or Cas if they can do anything. I’m worried just as much as you, so stop looking at me like that!” He turned around and went off to get some food, knowing him. You both rolled your eyes and went back to your day.

When night came, Sam was at your door again, scratching and whimpering. You opened the door and let him in just like the night before. As he settled into your bed, he looked at you and soft, crying whines escaped him.

“We’ll find a way to get you back to normal, I promise.” You petted his fur and kissed him on the head. You both laid there for a long while before you could fall asleep.

The light streamed from your window to your still closed eyes. You didn’t want to wake up yet, weren’t ready to face the day. You snuggled closer to the warm, broad chest next to you, and felt  strong, comforting arms tighten around you. Wait……

Your eyes shot open. You pushed away from the strange man in your bed so fast and hard, you fell off the bed flailing in your sheets whilst screaming.

“(Y/N)! Are you okay?!?” You look up to see Sam, back to his human self, lying on the bed.

“SAM!” You flung yourself over the bed put your arms around his neck in a vice like hug. He laughed and wrapped his arms around your waist. You pulled back and looked at him.

“Sam?” You asked, looking strictly at his face.

“Hmm?” He looked back with a satisfied smile on his face.

“You’re naked.” He looked like his heart flatlined.

“Holy crap! I am so sorry!” He got up, wrapped the blankets around his waist. “I didn’t realize…..I-I’m sorry!” He backed out of your room, bumped into your dresser. “I am so, so sorry!” He said as he tried to catch what fell. He finally got out the door and accidentally slammed it. “I AM SO SORRY!”

You shook your head and chuckled as you got dressed. You went to the kitchen to get some breakfast and found the cereal. On the top shelf. Again. You sighed and tried to reach for it. Just as your fingers grazed the box, another hand brought the box to your hand. You put the box on the counter and turned to the now blushing Sam. He scratched the back of his neck and looked down.

“So, uhm, sorry about this morning.” You smile and wrap your arms around his midsection and press your head to his chest.

“I’m just glad you’re back to normal!” You looked up and gave him a cheeky smile. He looked down at you and put his hands on your hips. A smirk found it’s way to his face.

“Since I’m human now…” You gave him a slightly confused look before he pressed his lips gently to yours. He pulled away slightly and you went on the tips of your toes and reconnected your lips.

“AHEM! This is where I eat!” You both turn to the source of the voice. Dean was leaning in the doorway, with a face of mock disgust. A smile breaks on his face as he walked through the kitchen to get the leftover pie from the night before. You heard something like ‘I told you so’ when he passed Sam, and Sam’s cheeks lit up like a fire.

You both look at each other and look away, embarrassed. You didn’t trust your voice to sound right, so you got your breakfast in silence, while Sam just watched you. The intense way he stared at you made you blush even harder than you were before. After you finished your breakfast, you sat in the library with a new book. You had just finished the first chapter when  you felt Sam sit next to you. You lifted your arms and Sam laid his head on your lap. You played with  his hair and enjoyed the feel of it between your fingers.

“(Y/n),” You looked from your book down to him, still playing with his hair. “I know that you miss your family…” You drop your hands, and sigh.

“Sam...”

“No, let me finish.” He sat up next to you. “I know that you miss your family, but I just want to let you know that Dean and I are here and consider you our family. And we love you, A-and I… love you.” He explained, hoping he didn’t sound like an idiot.

“Thank you Sam.” You smiled. “And I have always considered you both my family.” You leaned over and pressed your lips to his, setting your book down. He kissed back, bringing his hand to the back of your neck and his other to your hip. You put your hands behind his neck and let your fingers rush through his hair. Your lips moved in sync as he leaned forward and gently pushed you to the couch. You broke apart and looked at each other. You put your hand on the side of his face. He leaned into it, kissing the palm. He gave you a look of such love and adoration, you thought your heart would burst. You smiled lovingly at him.

“And I love you too.” He smiled and captured your lips once again.
